Mission

At First Ferndale we actively participate in many Mission Projects.

Ferndale First’s Mission and Outreach Committee invites you to join us in any of our on-going projects and is always open to new ideas and initiatives you may have!  A yearly snapshot of some of our current projects includes sponsoring our local CROP Walk in October, packing and delivering Thanksgiving baskets, assisting local families in need at Christmas, fundraising for the Heifer Project throughout Advent and the Christmas season, hosting 30 men, women and children from the South Oakland Shelter for a week in mid-January, an on-going commitment to the Methodist Church in Malawi (which has included scholarship support, digging new wells, and farming assistance) and many opportunities to contact our representatives in D.C. on behalf of Bread for the World.  We are working on new initiatives to reach out locally, including volunteering with the Baldwin Center in Pontiac and Cass Community Social Services in Detroit.

Please contact Sarah Lemelin at swlemelin@wideopenwest.com for more information, to volunteer for any of our on-going projects, or to share your ideas.
